Fula (language)

Fula is a language spoken mainly by the Fulbe in West Africa, which belongs to the Atlantic Congolese of the Niger Congolese. It is a language continuum that allows speakers from neighboring regions to easily understand each other, but a speaker from Sudan has trouble understanding a Senegal speaker.

The name Fula is used primarily in English literature in accordance with the scholar D.W. Arnott because the term Fula is easier to pronounce than the western language name Pulaar and the eastern language name Fulfulde. In Mali is the name limit.

The Fula is spoken in twenty-one African countries of Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia & amp; Guinea to Cameroon and Sudan, probably there are also enclaves of speakers in Ethiopia. It is therefore the most widely spread African language of Africa. The language is written in both Latin and Arabic.
