MagicGate

MagicGate is a security technology introduced by Sony in 1999 as part of the Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI). To ensure data security, they are encrypted and decrypted by a special MagicGate chip.

MagicGate encryption is used on PlayStation 2's memory cards, and since 2004, it has been introduced in all Sony Memory Stick products. Some devices, such as the Sony Network Walkman, accept only Memory Stickers using MagicGate technology. All Memory Stick Duo cards with MagicGate can be identified by a notch located on the back of the card. Supportomodifica wikitesto
