Hermine Prinzessin Reuß Elder Line (Greiz, December 17, 1887 - Frankfurt (Oder), August 7, 1947) became known as the second wife of former German Emperor Wilhelm II. biography

Reuß was a member of the branch of the old house of the house Reuß and daughter of frost Hendrik XXII Reuß older line (1846-1902) and princess Ida van Schaumburg-Lippe (1852-1891). She married in 1907 with the (non-ebony) Johann Georg Prinz von Schoenaich-Carolath (1873-1920) with whom she received five children. After her husband died, she conducted the management of family reunions in Silesia.

In 1922, at Huis Doorn, she married the Wilhelm II in exile, whose first wife, Emperor Auguste Victoria, died a year before.

In the daily routine, Princess Hermine was addressed as an Empress, while she was officially "Princess Princess of Prussia" because her new groom himself was officially no emperor more after he had thrown away in November 1918. After her marriage, 28-year-old princess Hermine moved with her three youngest children to the emperor's house, Huis Doorn in the Netherlands.

To the death of Wilhelm II she has done her utmost to reinstate him as an emperor in Germany. The imperial congratulations to Hitler because of his victory in France were in fact also her work.

After the death of the former emperor in 1941, the princess returned to the landmarks in Silesia until they flew to the Red Army in 1945. Then she was caught by her youngest sister, Ida vorstin von Stolberg-Roßla, in Roßla in Harz.

After the end of the war, she passed through the Red Army to Frankfurt (Oder) where she died as an intern on August 7, 1947. Hermine was joined to the so-called 'ancient temple' in the park of castle Sanssouci in Potsdam and not on the side of the deceased ex-Emperor in Doorn. Literature Externe link
