Neutral Party


The Neutral Party was a Dutch political party at the beginning of the 20th century that came for artists and for people working in the entertainment company. She was therefore a typical stakeholder. All other issues had to be dealt with in accordance with the "general government interest" without the involvement of party politics.

It was based on personal freedom of all citizens and equal rights, respecting the religious attitude. The Neutral Party can count towards the liberal flow. Foreman

The party reached 7000 votes (0.5%) at the Dutch Parliamentary elections of July 1918, well for 1 seat. The party worked together with the VDW, the Country League, the Middle East Party and the Economic Bond in the Neutral Group under the leadership of Treub until 1921. In 1922, Ter Hall was a candidate for the Freedom Bound.

The rise of this party, which was not taken seriously by the political establishment, prompted the payment of a sum of money for parties who wanted to take part in the parliamentary elections. Until then any party that had at least 25 members could join.
