Bärenfang is a liqueur from East Prussia and is prepared from honey, spices and alcohol of a percentage between 20 and 45%. The drink is also called Bärenjäger, mainly in the English-speaking world. History

The liqueur has been prepared since the 15th century in the East Prussian households. In some areas, the liqueur is also called Meschkinnes, which descends from Lithuania. Since 1945, this specialty is spread worldwide.

The first commercial supplier of the drink was the company Teucke & amp; König from Koningsbergen with the brand Bärenjäger with a hunter and a bear on the label.

Because it is easy to prepare, it is also often made in Germany.
