Ella Constantinescu-Zeller (Banat, November 26, 1933) is a Romanian former table tennis player. Together with her countrymate Angelica Rozeanu, she became world champion in both Utrecht 1955 and Tokyo 1956. Together they became the first European champions in the doubles game for women in Budapest in 1958.

Constantinescu-Zeller was incorporated in the ITTF Hall of Fame in 1995. Sporty career

Constantinescu-Zeller became a total of five times world champion. In addition to the titles in individual disciplines, she won the World Cup team team with the Romanian national team in both Bucharest 1953, 1955 and 1956. In all three cases, Rozeanu was next to her on stage. In succession England, Japan and England had to rejoice with silver. The Japanese women in turn condemned both Bombay 1952, Stockholm 1957 and Prague 1963 Constantinescu-Zeller and her Romanian teammates to second place.

Constantinescu-Zeller and Rozeanu won the World Cup twice in the doubles. To that end, they defeated the twin sisters Rosalind and Diane Rowe in 1955 and a year later Fujie Eguchi and Kiiko Watanabe. When first European Championships were held in Budapest in 1958, Constantinescu-Zeller and Rozeanu took another third international title together. Although the Romanian at the EC 1964 again won the doubles final, she lost this time with Maria Alexandru from Diane Rowe, who once formed a duo with Mary Shannon.

Constantinescu-Zeller participated in eight editions of the World Cup between 1952 and 1965. The EC's in 1958 and 1964 were the only two on which they appeared. In addition, the Romanian played three times in the Balkans championships. Then she won both the doubles and the national tournament in 1963, 1964 (both in Athens) and 1965 (in Sofia) and in 1964 also the mixed doubles tournament. Constantinescu-Zeller was in the Balkan championships of 1963 and 1965 losing finalist singles.
