Donald George Bradman (Cootamundra, August 27, 1908 - Kensington Park, February 25, 2001), also called The Don, was a legendary Australian cricketer. He is seen by many as the best batsman of all time, although another strong candidate for this title is Sachin Tendulkar. His batting average in 99.94 test matches is seen as an exceptional sporting achievement. To date, he is the most popular athlete in his country.

Bradman grew up in Bowral. He played from 1928 to 1948 Test Cricket: his debut was in the first Test against England. His test career was interrupted for eight years by the war years. In his 52 test matches and eighty innings he collected 29 centuries and 13 half-centuries. With twenty years he was the youngest player who scored a century and he still had several other records on his name. One record is currently in the books, its hit average of 99.94.

In 1948 he was arrested and in 1985 he was admitted to the Australian Sports Hall of Fame.
