Planet (motorcycle)

Planet is a historic brand of motorcycles.

The company name was: Planet Engineering Co., Ashted, Birmingham.

This was an English manufacturer who assembled motorcycles from 1919 with 269cc-Villiers and 293- to 546cc-Union and Blackburne engines.

Planet Engineering built her motorcycles with components made by suppliers. Shortly after the First World War hundreds of these companies and engine manufacturers, such as Villiers, Union and Blackburne, concentrated on the delivery of built-in engines for these small brands. However, competition was high, especially because the older existing brands such as BSA, Triumph, AJS, Matchless, Ariel and Triumph, who during the war mainly produced for the British, French and Russian armies, appeared on the British market again. Planet did not last long: in 1920 the brand disappeared.
