Jan Versteegt (Weerman)

Jan Versteegt (Pijnacker, April 18, 1952) is a Dutch weatherman from Ruurlosche Broek near Ruurlo in the Achterhoek. Since 2006 he lives in Groningen Bourtange.

He started his career as a weaver at Achterveld in the late eighties and cared for the weather for the then Amersfoort radio station KeiSTAD FM. In 1989, he resigned as a major at Defense, moved to Tolkamer, and founded with his wife Ellen the Educational Weather Center opened by Jan Pelleboer. In the early 1990s they moved to Ruinerwold (Drenthe) and focused on meteorology.

Versteegt continues his radio career in 1991 at Omroep Gelderland and later joined Jan Pelleboer at the TROS and became a radio station for Radio Drenthe. Since January 1994 Versteegt took care of the weather on Radio 2. Every working day, he had his own (popular) Weather Show in the TROS radio program the Golden Hours. In 10 minutes, he gave an extensive weather forecast supplemented with observations from volunteer observers.

In 2006, Versteegt came to the news because of the heavy tax debt of the Tiros Weather Station. Verstegt has incorporated his work in this.

On December 20, 2006, the weather presentations on Radio 2 ended in the NCRV Node Kranenbarg program. Jan Versteegt then focuses on the internet and publishes a number of spoken weather reports daily. From December 2007 he is the permanent warden of Groot Nieuws Radio. In 2013, Internet activities were also discontinued. Externe link
