Venus and Adone is a painting by Nicolas Poussin dating back to 1626, kept at the Fabre Museum in Montpellier. Description and style-tagging wikitesto
The painting represents the famous episode of Adon and Venus, in a bucolic scene animated by cupids. The painting is actually only part of the original work, divided into two in the 18th century.
The most extensive part is that of Venus and Adone kept in Montpellier, while a section of the canvas on the left of this episode is kept at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. In 2008 the two parties were brought together and exhibited together for an initiative by the two museums, which later hosted the complete painting. Notemodify wikitesto
