Task Force Fox

Task Force Fox (TFF) or Operation Amber Fox was a NATO peacekeeping force, invoked by the government of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macadonia) and aimed at protecting international observers who supervised relied on the implementation of the peace plan in the former Yugoslav Republic. The mission ran from 27 September 2001 to 15 December 2002.

Task Force Fox was a follow-up to Task Force Harvest (TFH), which successfully provided disarmament of the armed militia and laid the foundation for a peaceful solution to the crisis in Macedonia. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE / OCSE) was present with several Field Liasion Teams (FLTs) mainly in the north and north of Macedonia. Officially, it was said to be protected by the police, but because trust could not be guaranteed in it, NATO itself called security forces called Extraction Forces.

After Germany acted as Lead Nation and had the lead from the beginning, the Netherlands took over the order on 26 June 2002 and was under military leadership of the Dutch brigade general Harm de Jonge. During the mission more than three hundred Dutch soldiers were placed in all of the four armed forces in Macedonia.

Task Force Fox was the first NATO mission to be fully concluded.
