White Agent is the code name of a herbicide used as a defective US Army during the Vietnam War as part of the Herbicide War program. The name comes from the white strip painted on the barrels to identify its contents. The White Agent was one of the so-called "rainbow herbicides", including the most well-known Orange Agent.

White Agent is a 4: 1 mixture of 2,4-D and Picloram (also known as Tordon 101). Unlike the most terrible Orange Agent, the White Agent does not contain dioxin, which was introduced into the decomposer during the 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4,5-T) addition. However, it appears that Picloram was contaminated with hexachlorobenzene (HCB) and nitrosamine, a known carcinogen. Around 1985, Dow Chemical was forced to re-certify Picloram after strongly reducing the amount of both contaminants. Notemodify wikitesto
