Cray XT4

The Cray XT4 (Hood code name) is a supercomputer architecture developed by Cray and introduced on November 18, 2006. The XT4 is an improved version of the XT3 architecture and includes an improved version of the SeaStar interconnect network called SeaStar2, AMD Opteron dual-core processors and DDR2 memory. The XT4 includes support for FPGA-based coprocessors. Interconnections, cabinets, and system software remain the same as the XT3 system. In 2007 it was replaced by the Cray XT5 system.
