Diabrotica bowditchiana

Diabrotica bowditchiana is an extinct beetle species from the family leaf cuttings (Chrysomelidae). The scientific name of the species was first published in 1914 for the first time by Henry Frederick Wickham. A fossil specimen from the Mioceen was found in the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument in the US state of Colorado. The species is named after Frederick Channing Bowditch, an amateur entomologist from Massachusetts. Bowditch accompanied Samuel Hubbard Scudder in Colorado to collect fossils, describing Henry Wickham later.
