French and Indian wars

The French and Indian wars are a term used to designate four 17th and 18th century wars fought on the North American continent while fought in Europe among the various superpowers, including France , Austria and England. Most conflicts took place between the French and English and their allied indigenous American tribes but also between the Spaniards and the Dutch were fought.

In the first three conflicts, France, thanks to the rapid mobilization of its troops and allies, prevailed, but during the fourth war, the French were under the feet of the British. The victory on the French also contributed to pressure that eventually sparked into the American War of Independence, because the US colonies no longer needed the defense for the United States without the threat of French invasions.
