Room Sonata

The Sonata is a type of sonata of three dedicated to a secular execution, that is, not in a religious context. It is an instrumental form of the Baroque period, in three or more movements structurally resembling the dance model (sometimes with an introductory movement) composed of one or more instrumental melodies and continuous low. Le op. 2 and 4 of Arcangelo Corelli (1653-1713) contain typical examples of this musical form. After about 1700 this genre progressively conversed with the church sonata and the title survived only to indicate the typology of the church and the combined genres, as titles as a game or suite used to describe a collection of dance movements.
