Uppsala General Catalogue of Galaxies

UGC or the full Uppsala General Catalog of Galaxies is an astronomical catalog compiled by the Swedish astronomer Peter Nilson in 1973.

The catalog contains data about 12,921 galaxies north of declination -02 ° 30 'and is based mainly on the original photographic records of the sky survey conducted with the Samuel Oschintelescoop at the Palomar Observatory. In addition to descriptions of all systems with a diameter from 1 arc minute, these systems contain data on all systems from the Catalog or Galaxies and of Clusters or Galaxies (or CGCG) that have an apparent magnitude of 14.5 or brighter. < / p>

The galaxies from this catalog have an incremental numbering from "UGC 1", and are sorted by increasing straight-click. Source
