Forever (2006)


Forever is a Dutch documentary from 2006 by director Heddy Honigmann about the Paris cemetery Père Lachaise. The film was premiered on October 12, 2006.

Honigmann portrays a number of celebrities buried there, including Honoré de Balzac, Frédéric Chopin, Jim Morrison and Oscar Wilde on the basis of talks with visitors to the grave. In addition, there is also room for moods and conversations with relatives of unknown "residents" of the necropolis. With archive material from Maria Callas, Georges Mélies and Simone Signoret, the music of Frédéric Chopin and Michel Petrucciani and Marcel Proust lyrics, it is completely completed.

The film experienced its international premiere at the San Sebastian International Film Festival and has won numerous national and international prizes in a short period of time. Prices
