John Harvard (mental)

John Harvard (Southwark, November 26, 1607 - Charlestown, September 14, 1638) was an English minister and first benefactor of a university called Harvard University. He wanted half of his money, together with his library, to be given to the newly founded school. His donation ensured that the institution could continue to work. Contrary to what one sometimes thinks, John Harvard is not the founder of Harvard University. The Harvard Bridge was named after him, just like the John Harvard Library in London Southwark.
