Marcelo Quiroga Santa Cruz
Marcelo Quiroga Santa Cruz (Cochabamba, March 13, 1931 - La Paz, July 17, 1980) was a Bolivian politician.
Considered one of the greatest characters of recent history, not only Bolivian but all over Latin America, he has dealt with literature, politics, economics. Socialist, parliamentarian, challenged the government of his country, accusing him of selling Bolivian resources and pledging to North American interests. In 1980, Marcelo Quiroga was assassinated by General Meza's men during the coup he was among the first victims. It was declared desaparecido, and his body never found again.
