Tewijk or Thevic was a village that was 3 to 4 kilometers west of 's-Heerenhoek, in the place of the current Total refinery in the industrial area of Vlissingen-Oost. There is very little known about this village that has already flooded about 1200 a.d.
The village / village is listed on a few old maps. No further literature has been found. In the 1970s, when a number of amateur archaeologists were in charge of the Vlissingen-Oost industrial area, research was carried out. There are no significant foundations outside of a number of foundations and loose bricks.
In the construction of the industrial area, a thick layer of sand has been dumped over the site and the Total refinery has been built above the site.
