The Metagitites (in ancient Greek: Mεταγείτνια, Metagèitnia) were festivals in honor of Apollo Metagìtnio (propitiator of the union of neighbors) celebrated in Athens in Melite's demo during the month of metagitation.
The origins of these festivities would be linked to the commemoration of Melite's migration to the Diomea demo, but it may also depend on the extension of Apollo's cult to embrace all social classes, Epimenide era. Notemodify wikitesto Bibliografiamodifica wikitesto Secondary sources
