Wolfhound is the international title of the Russian fantasy film Волкодав из рода Серых Псов (Volkodav iz roda Serych Psov) from 2007. The film of director Nikolaj Lebedev is based on a book by Maria Semjonova. There was also a television series that deals with Wolfhound's youth. The film is the second most expensive that was made in Russia between 1990 and 2010 and was filmed in Slovakia's forests. Wolfhound is still child when his parents are attacked and the rest of the tribe is killed. He himself is imprisoned and employed as a slave in a mine, where he saves a wounded bat that does not differ from his side. As an adult, he escapes the bat and as a brave warrior, he searches for the malignant masked Zidadoba druid to wreck the death of his tribe.
