Capri Records (rock and roll)

Capri Records was an influential American album label from the 1960s on which rock-n-roll and rhythm & amp; blues records came out. Founded by Huey P. Mieaux and Foy Lee in the early 1960s, it was the starting point of the careers of many Texan artists and contributed to the career of musicians like Gene Summers, Gaylon Christie, Scotty McKay and Pat Minter. It was a sub label of Crazy Cajun Enterprises, a company that also owned Tear Drop Records. The biggest hit of the label came in 1964, when Gene Summers scored with "Big Blue Diamonds". It also released Steve Tyrell's early records. Other artists at Capri Records included Ken Lindsey, Billy Holeman, Bobby Bennett, the Wheels, Jimmy James, the Fallouts and the Mistics.
