ColdWorld is a German depressed blackmetal and ambient project by Georg Börner, who works under the auspices of G.B. He started the band in 2005 in Erfurt, (Thuringia) and released his debut album Melancholie² in 2008. For that reason, an epic of 50 pieces had appeared, called The Stars are Dead Now. A new album called Autumn is expected in 2016.
The band should not be confused with the American punk band "Cold World". Genre and theme
ColdWorld plays a subgenre of black metal, namely depressive black metal. The style of the band, however, also overlaps with other genres, and the band also inspires bands like Burzum. Recurring themes in the texts are misanthropy, cold, loneliness and emptiness. The band name ColdWorld also spells on the "cold atmosphere" that Georg wanted to achieve with his music and giving a global image. Discography
