Gerard Thomas (Antwerp, 1663 - 1721) was a South Dutch artist from the Baroque period. He is famous for his workmanship with interiors of workshops and galleries and was twice the blanket of the Antwerp Saint Lucas guild which he joined in 1688-89. Many of his paintings show painters of the 17th century, such as Peter Paul Rubens, Anthony van Dyck or Jacob Jordaens in their studio surrounded by cloths and sculptures while teaching a teacher. The painters' names are often only found through their works depicted.
