Gregorio in Dunkeld

Gregory of Dunkeld (... - 1169) was a Scottish bishop active around the middle of the twelfth century. Biography modifies wikitesto

Gregory was bishop of Dunkeld around the middle of the twelfth century. He appears in a large number of cards dating back to the reigns of David I of Scotland and Malcolm IV of Scotland, the first of which can date back to 1135, although 1146 is the date he appears with Bishop Andrew of Caithness in the notices in the Gaelic language inserted in the margin of the Book of Deer. He was not the last bishop of the diocese, but his death marked the end of the rule of the bishop's office exclusively of Gaelic. Bibliografiamodifica wikitesto Links externalize the wikitesto
