Jean-Pierre Detremmerie, augustus 2008
Jean-Pierre Detremmerie (Mouscron, October 10, 1940 - there, on the night of 20 February 21, 2016) was a Belgian politician and mayor for a long time active in the CDH. Lifecycle
As a regent in Germanic languages, he became a modern language teacher at the Saint Augustine Collage in Edingen.
Soon, he became politically active for the PSC (forerunner of the CDH) and was voted for this party in 1970 as a municipal councilor of Mouscron. Following the mergers of the municipalities, he became a member of Youth and Sport in 1976 under Mayor Robert Devos, and in 1980 he followed Devos as Mayor of Mouscron. He eventually became Mayor until 2006, after which he was succeeded by Mayor Alfred Gadenne.
In February 1981, he also followed Devos as a member of the House of Representatives for the district of Tournai-Aat-Mouscron, which remained until 2003. From 1981 to 1995 he was also a member of the Walloon Region and the Council of the French Community. At the 2003 election he was not re-elected as a national representative, after which he became a member of the Walloon Parliament and Parliament of the French Community in 2004. In April 2005, he resigned in favor of Damien Yzerbyt.
In 2005 he refused the presidency of the football club Excelsior Mouscron. In 2006 he became a Meskroen CDH group leader in the city council. After a few scandalous scandals were spilled on the financing of that football club, he resigned from the Mouscron CDH in February 2007. In 2016 he had to appear before the boardroom in that affair. After that, he was independent councilor until 2012.
At the age of 20 on 21 February 2016, he ended his life at the age of 75. Externe link
