Coin on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of Mindaugas I
The kingdom of Lithuania (Lithuanian: Lietuvos Karalystė) was a historic country in Northern Europe that consisted of 1251 to 1263.
After Mindaugas's frost had baptized in 1251, he received Pope Innocentius IV's royal title. In the summer of 1253 he was crowned. Ten years later, in 1263, he and his sons were killed by his cousin Treniota and Daumantas of Pskov. The Lithuanians returned to paganism and the king's title. Also see
