The Serie B is currently the third level of the Italian men's hockey championship. Many clubs are divided into five groups from each team. It consists of a regular season in which the clubs face an Italian round with round-trip matches. Teams ranked at the 1st place of each ranked group at the end of the regular phase are promoted through play-offs in Serie A2 in the following season. Teams ranked at the last place of each group at the end of the regular phase do not undergo any relegation for the following season.
