Source Code Escrow, or Source Code Escrow, is an agreement whereby a software vendor or distributor and user agree that the vendor deposits the source code of a software product for the user with a specialized escrow agent. The user is then given access to the source code if the supplier for any reason is unable or willing to provide maintenance of the software.
Source code escrow or source escrow has been in existence for several years; Similarly, similar legal constructions exist in the US and Great Britain and also in the Netherlands for several years.
Recent developments involving companies to use highly virtualized applications or hosted applications. The risk has become disproportionately greater than the ease of scalability and use. In order to reduce this risk, Escrow Escrow agents provide cloud escrow since mid-2011. The cloud escrow scheme is a combination of legal commitment in an escrow agreement of terms and obligations and a technical computer failure.
The fact remains that many automated system users are highly dependent on continued maintenance for using their computer software.
