The International Molinological Society


The International Molinological Society (TIMS) is an international association of mill experts and lovers established since 1965. The association promotes the exchange of knowledge, research and restoration of mills. TIMS works closely with national associations and organizations in the cloud area. In addition, campaigns are being conducted at regional and national level to encourage the preservation of historically valuable mills and mills. The official language is English. Every four years TIMS holds an international, one-week, symposium in one of the participating countries. In 2007 that was in the Netherlands in Putten. A symposium report will be published with contributions and discussions. In addition, a one-week excursion is organized every four years.

Periodically for all members, the magazine International Molinology (about 40 pages) will appear twice a year with articles, short contributions, book discussions and current news. Detailed studies are published in "Bibliotheca Molinologica".

In addition, the magazine "Molinology, magazine for mill study" appears for the Dutch / Flemish department of TIMS twice a year, also about 40 pages and filled with articles, short contributions, book discussions, etc.

The TIMS Working Group Dictionary also has an in-line multilingual dictionary with language terminals in English, German, French and Dutch, which can be sent on request and also available on CD.
