Yazdanesimo

The 21-pointed star is a symbol of Yazdanesimo

Yazdanesimo is a group of three religions born and spread in the Kurdistan geographic and cultural area: Chinarism, Yarsanism and Yazidism.

Yazdan religions (along with Zoroastrianism) were widely spread among the Kurds before their Islamization in the 16th century. Today they are present in isolated communities; 20% of the Turkish population is religious. The term Yazdanesimo derives from the Kurdish yazdān, or "worthy of veneration," in to the seven divine spirits venerated by the faiths. Yazdanesimo is also known as the Worship of the Angels, as the venerated entities often correspond to the angelic entities of Abramic religions.

Yazdan religions derive their origins: in the native cults of the Kurdish people, in ancient Middle Eastern religions, in paganism, in Gnosticism, and in Zoroastrianism. Strong exchanges with Judaism were still ahead of those with Christianity and finally with Islam, which took over. The Islamic component is fundamental today in alchemy. The distinctive feature of yazdane religions is a philosophy based on reincarnation. Other designers wikitesto
