Desi is a 2000 documentary directed by Maria Ramos and produced by Pieter van Huystee Film, in co-production with VPRO television. This 90-minute documentary shows the life of 11-year-old Desi. Desi lives in Amsterdam, but because of her remarkable family situation, Desi is asking her where she will sleep that night. Desi's mother committed suicide and her father lives with his new girlfriend on a houseboat. That's why Desi sleeps alternatively with her grandfather's grandfather, her grandmother's grandfather or her best friend.

Desi was the winner of the Public Award at the IDFA in 2000 and won a Golden Calf for Best Documentary in 2001.
