Chasideeën

The Chasideeën or Assidues (Hebrew: חסידים Hassidim, "Integrate" or "Vromen"; Koinè: Ἁσιδαίοι Asidaioi) is the name of a Jewish religious party that became important during the Makkaban uprising, although the party had existed for some time .

They are called three times in Makkabees. It is generally assumed that the members of the party (or some of them) began a piecratic movement, which eventually formed the Essenes. Also see

Their Hebrew name is the same as that of another movement, the Chassidim, which was founded centuries later by Israel Eliezer, better known as Baal Sjem Tov.
