Jam and Jerusalem

Jam and Jerusalem is a British comic television series about a typical British town where all people know each other. The local women's source has high levels of noble values, but basically comes together for a nice jar of gossip. Only the doctor's wife Sal Vine does not want to become a member because the activities of the club seem to be too little. But one day her husband dies unexpectedly on a heart attack and things take a different course.

The series was broadcast on the BBC in 2006, the year of its production.

Some famous faces are included, including Jennifer Saunders, known for Absolutely Fabulous, and Sue Johnston, who plays in Waking the Dead among others. Production

The first episode of Jam and Jerusalem was recorded in the fall of 2005 as a pilot release and not broadcast immediately. The second series was recorded in the fall of 2007. Both sequences were filmed in North Tawton, Devon.

The series has been filmed in High Definition as a trial to show on BBC in November. The tune is a version of a song by The Kinks, "The Village Green Preservation Society" sung by Kate Rusby. Jam and Jerusalem has no smileband and was not recorded for a live audience. The name is thanks to the association with the Women's Institute in England and Wales, which is widely used to claim that one's time is spent jam making on the one hand and the hymn Jerusalem on the other. The hymn is unofficial anthem.

The true daughters of Jennifer Saunders, Ella, Beattie and Freya Edmondson, play as Saunders daughters, Caroline, in the show, respectively, as Ella, Beattie and Freya. Externe link
