Biospargimento

Biospargment (biosparging in English) is a method of soil biobonification. The method is to blow oxygen (O2) or air into contaminated soil at low pressure. Oxygen can also be introduced in the form of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).

Air intake into the ground and / or oxygen directly is primarily aimed at supporting natural biodegradation processes of organic contamination compounds by microorganisms present in the soil. The volatilized substances due to air entering the soil should instead be aspirated by an extraction well (the same as used for the bioventing method).

This technique is very effective for highly contaminated soil and especially for porous soils. Inhaled air or oxygen in addition to triggering metabolic processes causes desorption (or stripping) of hydrocarbons present in contaminated soil. Voices correlateemodify wikitesto
