Dick Blok


Dirk Peter (Dick) Blok (Oegstgeest, January 7, 1925) is a Dutch media and nominee.

Block studied medieval history at the University of Amsterdam. In 1953, he obtained cum laude his doctoral degree and in 1960 he, also cum laude, graduated from the dissertation A diplomatic research of Werden's oldest private funds. In 1965 he was appointed as director of the Meertens Institute. As such, he is one of the characters in J.J. Voskuils key novel The Bureau. Therein he has the name Jaap Balk. Working
