The IMS Global Learning Consortium is a nonprofit organization made up of more than 50 members and affiliates from all sectors of the e-learning community, including hardware and software vendors, training institutions, advertising agencies, government agencies, experts of multimedia, all with the goal of collaborating in order to produce interoperability and re-use of e-learning platforms.
IMS develops and promotes the adoption of technical specifications for interoperative learning, some of which have become, de facto, universally accepted standards for the development of software products targeting the e-learning market.
