International Council of Christian Churches

The International Council of Christian Churches (ICCC) is a fundamentalist ecumenical organization founded in Amsterdam in 1948 as an orthodox-protestant counterpart of the World Council of Churches. Although several Dutch churches were involved in the establishment, the ICCC currently has no Dutch churches more as a member. Over the years, the ICCC has evolved increasingly in the fundamentalist and anti-communist direction. However, Dutch people remained personally involved in the organization. For example, Christian Reformed Pastor J.C. Maris (1910-2000) from 1954 to 1998 Secretary of the ICCC, although the Christian Reformed Churches had decided to terminate their membership in 1977.
