Kees Dekker


Cornelis (Kees) Dekker (southern Beijerland, February 6, 1938) is a former mayor of Elburg, Hattem and Dronten. Career

Kees Dekker studied economics at the Dutch Economics University in Rotterdam. Then he followed a postdoctoral degree in the field of register accountant. His last occupation has been for several years. Furthermore, Dekker was from 1966-1968 on behalf of the Christian-Historic Union (CHU) councilor in the former town of Westmaas.

At the end of 1968 Dekker was appointed Mayor of Elburg, pending a merger of this municipality with the municipality of Doornspijk. This merger would take place in 1974. In 1972 Dekker was appointed Mayor of Hattem. From 1981-1997 he was Mayor of Dronten.
