Disegno kōhaku maku

A kōhaku flavor (紅白 幕 let: red and white lining) is a fabric panel used as decoration on particular occasions in Japan. The name is due to the red and white lines tied together, known as kōhaku. The Kōhaku maku panels are hanged with red strings.

The Kōhaku maku are hanging on the wall to give a festive look at both formal occasions, especially for festivities for reaching maturity, and for common occasions such as cha no yu and scampagnata hanami, to beautify places where these activities are held.

A type of fabric with a black and white pattern similar to that of 'kohaku maku is used for wakes.
