Quick-Step (Brand)

Quick-Step is a brand name of laminate and parquet, which has existed since 1990. It is produced by Unilin, which has its headquarters in the Belgian Wielsbeke. In 1989 Unilin, who initially made flaxboard records, left the company Fibrolin. That company made laminated wood paneling for floor coverings. Fibrolin was renamed Unilin Decor and Unilin further produced these laminate floors under the name Quick-Step. The company introduced the Uniclic click system in 1997. This made it possible to place laminate floors without any by-products such as glue. The system has been patented worldwide. Initially, the company still purchased MDF records, but at the end of the 90's one started production. In the early 20th century, the laminates were further developed and distributed worldwide. In America and several European countries, Quick-Step legal battle with Berry Floor provided patents for the click systems. Sponsoring

In 1998, Quick-Step cosponsor became the Mapei cyclist team. When this team disappeared in 2003, it became the main sponsor of the Quick Step team until 2011. From 2012, the cosponsor became Omega Pharma and later with Etixx.
