The Franciscan of Roosendal, also known as Franciscaness of Mariadal, is a Roman Catholic congregation founded in 1832 from the Franciscan deans of Dongen by the Maria Raaymakers from St. Oedenrode (cloister name: Marie Joseph). The sisters belong to the Penitenten Recollectinen. Starting at the Molenstraat, the Mariadal Monastery was founded in Roosendaal. This has grown into a large complex and is located on the Vincentius Street 7.

The order grew and reached about 1200 sisters at its peak. They established offices in various places in the Netherlands, such as in Bavel, and also from offices, offices in Chile, Suriname, Curacao and Bonaire. Initially, the congregation focused on teaching, later there were pastoral and other auxiliary tasks.

In 1926, the Church of St. Elisabeth was founded, originally a hospital and nursing home for sick and elderly sisters on the Wouwseweg 21. After 2000, non-religious homes also lived here.
