Battle knots

Battle knots Old battle knots (kanabō) from Japan.

A battle knot is a battle weapon that was used earlier in the battlefield. A fight knot is usually heavier than a normal bat or knot and is often provided with bumps or spines to increase the damage to the opponent.

A battle knot can be made of wood or metal, or a combination. The knot shown is made of wood that has a metal, pointed head at the top and a metal part at the bottom.

The battle knots were also a popular weapon in the Middle Ages of Europe because it was cheap to produce. This fight knot was a lot shorter and was often used in combination with a shield.
