Bill Raisch


Carl William Raisch (April 5, 1905, North Bergen, New Jersey, United States - July 31, 1984, Santa Monica, California, United States), was an American dancer / actor.

In the thirties he worked as a dancer for Ziegfeld Follies. In 1945, during World War II, he served in the US Army and lost his right arm. He played small roles in different movies. His most memorable film role was in a famous battle scene with Kirk Douglas in the Lonely are the Brave (1962). However, the most famous role was in the television series The Fugitive (1963-1967), in which he played Fred Johnson, the one-legged man who was the true killer of Richard Kimble's wife, played by David Janssen.

Raisch worked for many years as an actor, and also had a long professional relationship with Burt Lancaster as his stand-in in various movies.

Rick died of lung cancer in 1984 in Santa Monica, California.
