Hunkeren (Allez Mama)

Hunkeren is the debut album of the Dutch band Allez Mama.

All albums of Allez Mama make this album the most traditional zydeco-tinted sound. The band is still searching for its own identity and that is to be heard. However, the fact that this does not have to be a limitation shows itself in the single "You Liegt That You Barst", which makes the band a fierce Dutch-language hit that is often heard on radio and television. For Frontman Laroux and drummer Stavenuiter, this is an impulse to continue with the zydeco and leave behind their rock and pop past.

Driven by the success of the single, the band begins an intensive tour schedule. Meanwhile, in the rehearsal room in Utrecht-Noord, written and rehearsed in the second album. Guitarist Dennie van Belzen leaves the band and is replaced by the Amsterdam guitarist Vivant Dikki de Woerdt.

Frontman Lenny Laroux could not believe his ears when he heard the song Dan Pas Faith I heard from the Belgian Big Brother candidate Bart on the radio. That's a cover of his song and hitsingle You Lieget That You Burst! At this moment, it is still possible to find out how this song in Belgium could be heard without all the words of Allez Mama.
