Ko Shishikura


Kō Shishikura (Japanese: 宍 晃 晃, Shishikura Kō; Tokyo, 1968) is a Japanese composer, music educator, conductor and hoboist.

Lifecycle

Shishikura studied hobo at Kaetsu Toratani and Kozo Yoshinari and sang at Hiroshi Mochiki at Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo. At the age of 16, he wrote first small works and edits for pop and jazz ensembles. In 2004 he was in the United States and was successful in his composition Fantasia on Little Fugue.

With Saitama's Saitama Sakae High School Wind Orchestra, he was a guest at the Mid West Clinic in Chicago in December 2006, a major music fair, expanded with many concerts. At this festival, his Cherished Days - Nostalgia for Naperville was performed and enthusiastically introduced by the professional audience.

Today he is a music teacher at secondary schools and conductor of different harmony orchestras.

In addition to numerous editions of classical music, such as the Complete Requiem KV 626 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart for soloists, mixed choir and accordion orchestra, various songs from Claude-Michel Schönberg's musical Miss Saigon, the waltz An der Schönen blauen Danube of Johann Strauss Jr., he also wrote some of his own works.
