The Source Festival is a music event in Utrecht in which electronic music is combined with visual arts, theater and choreography. The music offer includes electro, minimal, techno and house music. The festival has been in place since 2007 and since 2009 also in winter. History and development
The first edition of the Source Festival took place on 18 August 2007 at the Paperdometerrein in Utrecht. The festival was initiated by some members of Veritas who organized small parties around Utrecht. On February 28, 2009, the first winter edition 'Source on Ice' was organized. Since 2011, Vététététheater is also part of the festival.
Between 2007 and 2011, the number of visitors, the size of the site, the number of stages, the entrance fee and the music and theater offer increased. During the first edition in 2007, the festival had two podiums, seventeen dj's performed around the 2000 visitors.
