Bienotheroides

Bienotheroides is a genus of Therapside or mammalian reptile. He belonged to the Cynodontia suborder and was quite close to the mammals. There are indications of primitive cynodontics like Thrinaxodon that they had mustaches. It is therefore likely that more advanced cynodontes like Bienotheroides and relatives also had normal hairs. From the teeth of Bienotheroides it appears that it was probably an omnivore. The choice was likely to soften both soft plants and meat. Bienotheroides was related to Bienotherium, Oligokyphus, Yunnanodon and Xenocretosuchus, and lived in the late Jura together with crocodiles like Hsisosuchus and Junggarsuchus, flying reptiles or pterosaurians such as Darwinopterus and Angustinaripterus, the freshwater pliosaurus Yuzhoupliosaurus and many dinosaurs. >
